Consignment Program: HOW TO CONSIGN WITH US
Our Consignment Guidelines – Please Read Before Bringing Items
We love helping your pre-loved pieces find a new home, but we have to be selective due to our small space. That doesn’t mean we think your items aren’t great—we’re simply choosing what we know will sell. No judgment, just business!
Step 1: Get in Touch
Before bringing in your items, please email us at info@shoptherak.ca with:
✔ Your name & phone number
✔ A brief description of the items (including sizes!)
Please note there are a few brands we do not except: Shein, Old Navy, Joe Fresh, Ricki’s, Bootlegger, Fashion Nova, Streetwear Society, Ardene, Reitmans, Northern Reflections, Costco brands, Amazon brands, Smart Set, Jacob, no vintage, items with no tags, workout wear (excluding Lululemon), used bathing suits, pajamas, slippers, or any items with rips, tears, stains, or excessive pilling. Additionally, footwear with scuffs, stains, or items that require extensive cleaning will not be accepted. If an item is initially accepted but is later found to have a stain, rip, tear, or excessive pilling during the cleaning process, it will be held in the back until the end of your contract.
We’ll review your submission and guide you through the next steps.
Step 2: Quality Check
We accept clean, excellent-condition items that are current (within the last 2-3 years). To maintain quality, we do not accept:
🚫 Items with stains, pilling, damage, or excessive wear
🚫 Footwear that is overly worn or dirty (we prefer next to new)
🚫 Swimwear unless new with tags
Drop-off Days: Mondays, Wednesdays, & Saturdays
Drop-off Limit: 1-2 bins or bags per visit
Processing Time: Please allow 30 minutes for sorting. Feel free to browse, grab coffee, or enjoy Whyte Ave—we’ll text you when we’re done.
❗ Unaccepted items must be picked up before the end of the day.
Step 3: Fair Pricing & Commission
We price items based on brand, condition, and demand to get you the best return.
💰 You earn 40% of the sale price.
📅 Payouts are processed on the 1st of each month (balances under $10 will carry over).
Step 4: Consignment Period & Pick-Up Policy
🔹 Items stay on consignment for 3 months
🔹 If an item hasn’t sold after 2 months, we may adjust the price
🔹 At the end of the term, you’ll receive a text to pick up any unsold items
🔹 You have 1 week to pick up—after that, we will donate on your behalf
Due to our limited space, we must move inventory quickly. Please be mindful of the timeline!
Key Points to Remember
✅ We reserve the right to decline items that don’t meet our standards
✅ We cannot accept drop-offs outside of designated days
✅ Once consigned, items stay for the full 3-month term
